As a result of our passion for sustainable architecture 2020 Architects have become specialist in the planning for all sustainable energy plants and do much of the planning for the various wind turbine developers in Northern Ireland. Due to this specialism 2020 Architects are now consultees on Northern Ireland's renewable energy incentive legislation.
In Northern Ireland the potential for the creation of small scale sustainable energy is huge. We are very much a rural economy, with excellent wind and water resources and most importantly an agricultural community which owns the ground on which it farms. These conditions provide us with a unique opportunity which is now very financially attractive with the recent increase in ROCs.
If you wish to discuss wind power, the energy incentives or require help on the planning of a turbine please do not hesitate to contact us in our Belfast or Ballymoney office.
Much like wind power 2020 Architects have become specialists in the planning for Anarobic Digestion plants working with many of the technology suppliers as their preferred Architect.
Bio Mass generally refers to biological material derived from living, or recently living organisms, which are converted into heat, electricity or both. The conversion of these materials into useful energy generally occurs either through combustion or some form of biochemical conversion. A biochemical conversion utilises enzymes of bacteria and other micro-organisms to break down the biomass in the absence of air, yielding a biogas containing methane which can be burned. The major issue with biomass for farmers are the numerous conversion processes, the different commercial systems that are available and the ROC implications for each system. There are 16 different acknowledged technologies which the 'Department of Enterprise Trade and Investment' DETINI, have highlighted under the ROC's Scheme. If you require independent advice on this complex subject please do not hesitate to contact us.
