A replacement dwelling uniquely placed at the centre of the shoreline in Glenariffe, this modern family home seeps in superb views of the scenic bay as well as the sweeping glens of Antrim.

The prominent position of this site meant that the view from the glen to the sea was a crucial feature to embrace. The home was designed to incorporate vernacular characteristics whilst encompassing the panorama at every opportunity.

Glenariffe

The front entrance opens to a direct view of the sealine beyond. The hall is softly finished in light, natural shades to bring focus to the view.

A sliding pocket door to the right of the entrance hall reveals a light filled, vaulted open plan kitchen, dining and living space surrounded by dramatic vistas on all three sides. The kitchen is fitted with additional window seats showing inescapable views to the valley. Behind the kitchen is a practical generous pantry and additional kitchen storage. On the other side of the main hall to the rear of the home is the W.C. and boot room, which links with a carport externally. To the front, a small office with views to the valley and a small snug room.

A bright stairwell leads to a picture window overlooking the sea and the soft and light-filled landing leads onto three spacious bedrooms on one side and a spacious master on the other. Here the striking headland beyond forms a focal point of the corner window.

Externally the home is sympathetically finished in light subtle cladding and smooth white render with traditional slate roofing. The outdoors is very important to this family so the main feature to the rear of the home is the vast veranda which opens onto the extensive rear lawn and a quaint pedestrian gives direct access to the beautiful wide-stretching Waterfoot beach.
