With stunning views across the Irish sea, this beautiful  accessible, single storey house nestled at the foot of one of the famous Glens of Antrim, near Carnlough, creates a minimalist accessible family home for our clients.

The brief was to create a pared-back family home that opened itself both to the eastern sea views and also allowed for adaptive outdoor living accessible to all.

The house forms a southwest facing courtyard with outside BBQ, fireplace and living space connected to the sea through the vaulted double sided glass open plan kitchen dining space. Each wing of the house connect to this central courtyard through openings informed by the levels of privacy of the internal spaces. The bedroom block has a cloistered hall of timber fins out of a plinth planter.

Both internally and externally the clients wanted to use a simple pallet of materials in combination with fine detailing to create a contemporary yet timeless design.
