Belfast Development decisions just days away

MAJOR land decisions affecting Belfast City Council will close for public consultation next week.

Under the revision of Local Area Plans, Belfast City Council has published details of their Preferred Options Paper (POP) outlining its  vision for how land should be utilised and how to deliver new development and planned growth.  Belfast City Council’s POP closes for consultation on Thursday, 20th April.

For the first time in over 10 years, landowners have an opportunity to promote their land for inclusion within a development zone.  Land owners are urged to get involved in the process early and have their say in setting areas to be zoned for development and areas to be de-zoned in this process

Currently, all 11 Super Councils in Northern Ireland are undergoing a process of land zoning and de-zoning to establish future settlement boundaries.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

If you have land and would like it to be included for future development it is important to promote its inclusion.  Failure to do so could mean you miss out.  Also, if you are a land owner in Northern Ireland and are interested in future-proofing the development status of your land then it is essential to register your interest at this stage.
