Friday Five in Construction Materials

We have become accustomed in Northern Ireland to some strange and unusual materials appearing on our houses, creating a visually striking appearance. 

2020’s Friday Five is exploring the more traditional building materials which, when introduced to contemporary designs, creates stunning architecture. 

In the past we have explored the more contemporary materials used in our designs, so today – we’re going back to basics.

Black charred timber on 2020's Ballylumford project offers a tradtional/modern twist.
Red brick is vitually stunning and timeless. We love this brick on 2020's Portrush house.
Grass - you couldn't get more natural. Artifical grass is growing in popularity for use in all kinds of construction.
Western Red Cedar Timber is a perfect cladding option being dense and durable.
